- How do I subscribe to your mailing list? - Simply enter your

- How often are listing updated? - Listing are maintained on a daily
basis.
- How can I be removed from the emarketing list? - Removing your
email address from our marketing list is easy. Simply
Click Here and enter the email address
you would like removed.
Advertisers:
- How do I list my senior facility or business? - Simply
select the Get Listed option to have your organization listed.
You may choose a Basic or Enhanced listing.
- If there a fee for listing my organization? - A Basic
listing require no fee, but limits the type of information you can
list.
- Are all listing accepted? - Most listing are reviewed an approved with
no issue. However, we do reserve the right to exclude listings
if they do not fall into one of our category criteria or if a
facility or organization falls out of good standing with our user
base.
- How do I update a current listing? - Simple return to the
get listed option and resubmit your listing information.
Select the update option.
- How long does it take to have my listing added or updated? -
Typically listing are reviewed and added without 24 - 48 hours.
General Terms:
AGING IN PLACE
Aging in Place refers to the concept of older people remaining in
their homes for as long as possible, living independently. The goal
is to continue living in the home of one’s choice. Sometimes
accommodations need to be made, such as providing for meals or
making modifications in the home for safety purposes.
ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY
A supervised setting for those who are capable of living
independently but who may require some assistance with activities of
daily living. At a minimum, meals, cleaning services, and
supervision of medication are provided. Housing can be in an
apartment or a private or semi-private room. Beyond the basics, each
facility offers it’s own combination of activities and services.
Some may carry special licenses to provide a higher level of care.
CERTIFIED ELDER LAW ATTORNEY
The National Elder Law Foundation certifies those attorneys who are
substantially involved in the practice of elder law, have
participated in continuing legal education in elder law, have
submitted professional references regarding their competence and
qualifications in elder law and passed a full day certification
examination.
LIFECARE COMMUNITY
These communities combine independent living, assisted living and
nursing home care in a single setting. Traditionally there is a
sizeable entry fee and a monthly maintenance fee for which a
resident receives a living unit (room, suite, or apartment), meals
and health care through the nursing home level.
RETIREMENT COMMUNITY
A planned, age-restricted community, usually for those 55 or better.
Depending on the community, housing units can run the full spectrum
from rental apartments, to detached private homes of all sizes.
There is usually a homeowners association and services are provided
such as outdoor maintenance and security. Beyond that there may be
any combination of amenities and activities such as golf, swimming,
tennis etc. to suit all lifestyles.
SENIORS REAL ESTATE SPECIALIST (SRES)
Realtors qualified to address the needs of home buyers and sellers
aged 55+. The designation is awarded to realtors who have:
- successfully completed an education program offered by the SRES
Council, and
- demonstrated by their experience, the ability to counsel seniors
through the major financial and lifestyle transitions involved in
relocating, refinancing or selling a home.
